What Austin EDS Support Group is & What We Offer to the Community
Welcome to the Austin Ehlers-Danlos Support Group
We are a member-led group of over 100 members who are diagnosed with EDS or are supporting someone with EDS or just want to learn more about the syndrome.
assisting the community since 2012
The Austin, Texas EDS Support Group has been helping with education and support since 2012 and we currently have over 100 members. The group meets monthly from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 606 West 15th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.
Most meetings feature a keynote speaker(s) who will present on topics ranging from gastrointestinal issues, pain management, school, and workplace accommodations. Our group also discusses known therapies or treatment options including mindfulness training, acupuncture, prolotherapy, or anything that helps our members find relief.
We make every attempt to host 3-4 open gatherings per year, enabling informal meetings and discussions. Since each person has a unique set of symptoms, we try to offer a variety of speakers and topics as not one solution will work for every individual. It is also important to enjoy the fellowship that comes with meeting others who are battling EDS directly or indirectly.
Although we often feel lost in our journey with EDS, each member has unique experiences and every person must be or become an expert in their own care. The meetings are a time to share information, support and our own expertise.
Meetings are absolutely free and always will be.
You may bring snacks and drinks but the church is a peanut-free facility at all times. We hope to see you at the next meeting!
